I learned this week that logs are exponential functions. A log always has a base of ten unless it has another base on it. A log can be used to find the square root of a number or the exponent of a number. The root of the number goes on the bottom as the base.
ex. Log2(4)=2
2 goes on the bottom as the base.
ln is the natural log. ln is basically the log of e. e is about 2.71, it is a value like pie. Using logs can help us graph equations and figure out exponential functions.
This week we also learned about functions and their inverses.
The inverse of f(x)=f^-1(x). To make sure an inverse is the inverse of the function, you use this equation.
(f o f^-1)=x & (f^-1 o f )=x.
If the number does not fit the equation, it is not the inverse.
The inverse of x^2 is the root of x.
questions: the main question i have is how to find the inverse by solving it.

I think i understand what you mean. If you have a function and you have the inverse, you plug in the inverse into the ORIGINAL function.
ReplyDeleteOnce that is done you should have an output of X.
maing sure that that is the right inverse.
check my blogg!! = ) hope tht helps
